Blooming Great News! August Edition #1 Hi there Bloomers! It's Cath, Jac's Blooms assistant writing today's newsletter to keep you up to date! If we haven't met yet, I have known Jac for 30 years and we even have kids the same age. I am now her assistant and live in the UK! We work long distance and sometimes in person in the northern
hemisphere. If you have any questions about Blooms painting programs, workshops or French art school workshops or anything else you can email me at cath@bloomsartistcommunity.com Jac will still be doing posts here herself,
but we wanted to share more of the day to day inspiration, student paintings, behind the scenes, and sometimes creative tips and useful info so we are now teaming up so we can share more inspiration more regularly! Jac's daughter
Lily is studying in fashion and sustainability in Paris and shared a peek of her apartment in the Opera arrondissement of Paris in the video below. They enjoyed a few days in Lyon before Jac went to La Foret du Temple for French Art School where she organised painters to paint shutters and the front door at French Art school ahead of the students arriving, not to mention sorting out the menu with French chef Jose! Jac's daughter Lily gives us an insight to her apartment and what its like living in the Opera arrondissement in the centre of Paris. Before Jac did a storage makeover from Ikea! It's been an inspiring few months with Jac back in France with her students, first in Paris then in La Foret du Temple and onwards to Nice on the beautiful Côte D’Azur. From French Art School she kept us regularly updated on Facebook including in our group page Blooms Art School Online so we really felt like we were right there with them all, painting up some gorgeous paintings. NEW DATES RELEASED BLOOMS FRANCE & FRENCH ART SCHOOL 2023 New dates for 2023 BLOOMS FRANCE and FRENCH ART SCHOOL are now available and booking already as some of

The above pic is just one of the bonuses. The super sized bonus

So the follow up bonus of an online tuition pack for each program is a lovely addition to enjoy at no further cost that Jac has created for students coming to join her in France and her personal thankyou. HERE'S MY EMAIL AGAIN if you know you need to see the French Art School and the Blooms France offers! Here are some reminder pics of what a fabulous time was had by all and the gorgeous area! Jac and the group in her beautiful ballroom studio at L’Hirondelle,
out and about in the hamlet and laneways, and nearby, and some paintings! Not to mention our spiffy new French Art School aprons with their cross over back straps & handy pockets, a gift for each participant. The Creuse region sometimes called the Limousin, where Jac has placed the French Art School is well known for its stunning natural landscapes celebrated in the romantic writings of George Sand. It's also a safe place to be, not too many
people, as well as relaxing with stunning panoramas, chateaux, picturesque villages and winding rivers and valleys such as this view over the Boucle de Pin. Monet painted 29 paintings of this stunning river 30 minutes from Jac's doorstep and Chopin composed music for 9 years 25 minutes from Jac's doorstep in the other direction! No wonder
Jac's French Art School is such a creative confluence! In fact I was there with Jac at the start of French Art School back in 2016, assisting her to set up and was with her when she saw her house for the very first time! Exciting times! And I assisted on the first tour so its wonderful to come back and see all the developments that have taken
place since! What a lot of fun we had! In 2023, Jac will only take 6 students on each tour and has a supportive plan in place to guard against the risk of Covid and a plan of what she can do for you in the event of Covid which is something we all have to have a plan for these days....so you can book with confidence. The advantage of booking a place now is that you can purchase your flights at great prices well ahead of time. We are now booking for the following dates: 14-24 April 2023 and 3-13 May
2023. Both tours have the option of an additional time in Paris (Jac gives her time for free to show you her inspiring places ). Below; Painting en plein air at La Celle Dunoise a beautiful nearby village with a mill on the river, church bells and fragrant wild mint growing along the river bank. The new rose on the block Introducing the sultry new addition to the Paris Rose Series Despite being in France, Jac wasn’t for a minute forgetting her students students back home. She added a fourth rose in the
Paris Rose program while she was at French Art School, delivering her first zoom from her art studio at La Foret du Temple. How amazing is that? You now get 4 Paris Roses lessons in the program so a total of four beautiful blooms to paint. Create your series! No extra cost! If you haven’t already tried the Paris Rose, it is a fantastic way into Jac’s teaching and amazing techniques so with all this new bonus material, there has never been a better time to join. As well as the live recordings from the Zoom added to the program, Jac also recorded videos of the painting demonstration if you want to skip the student interaction and just get stuck into the lesson for Paris
Rose 4. Sign up below! ABOVE; The latest addition to Paris Rose is Paris Rose no 4 in the series. BELOW; PEONY PAINTING I PROGRESS BY MMFA PROGRAM student Jen Tucker created at the Sydney Blooms Workshop in July. Congrats to Jen! Safely back home (but not for long!!) On her return Jac taught a hugely successful Blooms Painting Workshop in Sydney at Lane Cove. 12 students painted 24 paintings plus three of Jac's wonderful MMFA PROGRAM students painted alongside and inspired with their paintings for a few days each. And Jac demonstrated her two Blooms painting methods on two
paintings. Here's a peek at some of the amazing results achieved in just 4 days and one evening. If you missed this workshop there is still some availability for upcoming workshops on the Sunshine Coast, Melbourne, Hamilton, NZ or Sydney again in December. Check out dates and the venue to suit you on the website following this link:
Above;
Janelle from Sydney was a first time painter and was thrilled with her results Below; Cathryn from Dubbo enjoyed a painting reboot at Blooms & created these stunners Here are some of the
great results achieved. Two big Blooms paintings in just 4 days. Those who have experienced these amazing workshops will know just how quickly you can progress over such a short amount of time to produce incredible results. You don’t have to have ever picked up a paintbrush. Jac’s techniques are guaranteed to have you painting 2 beautiful paintings by the end of the workshop. Back at home in South Australia's Barossa Valley, Jac caught up with her painting groups and gave live painting review sessions and connected with her students. She enjoyed her dogs Vinnie and Claude, two fox terrier chihuahua-cross brothers, and captured this glorious photo on an evening stroll. Just as I was experiencing the biggest heat waves ever in the UK! She has also been working on a new project between Australia and France soon to be released but more about that SOON! Jac is heading back to
France mid August where she will be spending more time painting in her favourite locations in Paris and La Creuse, inspired by the beauty around her and the impressionists who’s presence is still felt strongly in these areas. Below; Face to face with Matisse in Nice. And a Matisse nude. At the Matisse Museum,
Nice. As Jac says, 'Matisse was on the forefront of redefining art and ideas in the first part of the 20th century often taking the difficult position of risk taking and exploring less obvious painting solutions, risking scorn and derision about his
work. Although this was difficult in terms of income at times it eventually paid off thanks to a couple of amazing investors in his art and his reputation which eventually grew so he was appreciated by a wider audience. Perhaps this is why he known for his statement... It takes courage to paint.' Travel with the Blooms Travel Paintbox (No trip complete without one, on offer for only $249 inc postage in Australia inc gift of paint set) These little beauties were invaluable on Jac’s
recent travels, complete with everything you need to paint as you go, for an instant indoor studio or paint en plein air. All her French Art School students were given one on the tour but you don’t have to travel to France to bag one for yourself! They are available on the Arts Creative Hub shop by
following the link below. Currently on offer at only $249 down from $322.50 so hop onto the website and treat yourself and get painting on the go! JAC'S CURRENT OFFER INCLUDES A $35 pack of acrylic paints that fit the paint box whilst stock lasts! Enjoy a portable paint box experience, no tripod required, hands free, and it carries three wet paintings in the lid. At the Villa Euphressi in the Italian garden and Jac's 20 cm square painting, the perfect size for the paint box, and the perfect size for a painting whilst travelling according to the artist and creator of the Blooms travel paint box ! This is one of many paintings she created whilst travelling for a beautiful
series, now at the framers! So as you can see there’s plenty of inspiration at Blooms Art school and many ways to access Jac 's tuition whether it's online in a painting review session, in her Blooms painting programs Blooms Masterclass and MMFA PROGRAM or at a
live painting workshop. Since I rejoined Jac to assist a few months ago, I have spoken or emailed with quite a few of you, and even zipped over to France to help Jac get the houses ready for the last group. It’s been lovely to virtually meet and chat to so many of you already and I
am always happy to assist if you have any queries about programs or anything else. Feel free to message me at cath@bloomsartistcommunity.com FRENCH LESSON! Here I am doing a bit of DIY in La Foret du Temple and then trying on some vintage hand knits at the “Vide Maison” which is when a house full of it's former owners contents is put into the hands of a seller. They empty the house
by selling everything then clean the house and sell it. They sell anything they can from light fittings to postcards, kitchen ware, vintage linens, antiques, bargains, laces, and more after buying the house from the French government if there is no family to take on the house if someone has passed on. It can take a few years for the house to be released to become a VIDE MAISON. A VIDE GRENIER is when someone empties their attic and has a sale of their gear, and often a whole village will join in so everyone has a big clean out and there are wonderful bargains to be had! The whole village turns its gear out onto the street and makes a few extra euros! This lovely old house is in the hamlet of La Foret du Temple. Jac went
about four times and did a Facebook live of it with a tour through the house and a good look at everything which you can still find on her Facebook page Jacqueline Coates or it may be on How to paint with Jacqueline Coates! She said for her it was like visiting a different era. She bought back something from each visit including stunning unused linen sheets from the 1920's in their original
packaging milled in Flanders, some wonderful handmade house aprons and a few chairs! And no we decided against the hand knit! Fun to try though! Well that's it for this Blooming Newsletter! We look forward to seeing your paintings in your groups and in Blooms Art School Online. Drop me a line and let me know if you enjoyed our newsy chat format or if there is anything else you'd like Jac to cover or share! And thanks for being a blooming inspiration yourself! Keep up the great work! Loving seeing the paintings coming through! Chat soon!
